Why has society depend on science ? Does anyone believe in feeling something without actually seeing it? These are my questions for Aldous Huxley. Science is so powerful that it is making us believe that in today's world we evolved from monkeys and that life should be created in a bottle through genetic engineering in Brave New World. This so called perfect society Huxley created is so structured that these humans are trained like robots to be a certain type of person and to not have any individuality in order to not have any chaos. Also, they are trained to have a certain job and to not have any question about it. In today's society, some people can't decide what career they are interested in until they are an adult but in the Huxleyian world they are conditioned to perform a certain job no matter what they might think. Science is about proving a theory with evidence and if there is no actually evidence no one in Huxleyian's world believes in it. On the contrary, science cannot be too overpowering because it disrupts the utopia.
As science is the leading mind in this utopia, the sense of thinking and believing in religion drifts away but not all the way. For example, in Brave New World, the people do not know anything about religion but involuntary sometimes ask for guidance when they are not feeling any happiness from the "Ford." It is the world controller's job to make sure that what happened in history such as religion does not come out in society but I made a conclusion that this "Ford" t is coincidentally like our God today. So in a way they do believe in a higher power but they do not practice faith by conditioning when they were born. As you can see, religion has its ways around and doesn't need any evidence like science needs in order to be true.
