This novels Brave New World and Amusing Ourselves to Death leads me to believe that in this "modern world" things could've been predicted along time ago. That society as a whole is kind of deteriorating due to its lazyness and always trying to find a easy way for every thing. It is kind of scary that people predict things that happen way before there time.
In the book Brave New World, little babes are shocked into not like books and flowers so it doesn't wait the community's time. In this present world people are using this method to stop them selves of doing bad habits. '
Like you may have seen people buy shock collars for there pets. The shock the pet every time it barks at someone to train it to stop and never barking. But doing that can also be bad.Say if a thief has broken into your house, you dog won't warn you because of its fear of getting shocked and hurting itself.
What if a day comes when people make there kids wear the collars so they obey them? Hopefully the future doesn't repeat itself and evolve

Predictions can be very controversial as well. Take Nostradaumus for example; he made nearly a million quotes of everything that could have happened in the near future. But, only about a hundred could be compared and actually be "connected" to a real event. And there is another point to point out."Connected"? They werent fully attached to the incident itself. He would write the prediction in a vauge notion like " Earthshaking fire from the center of the Earth

Two great rocks would resemblethe Twin Towers and they would be waring because they were just hit with a plane. Or could those two rocks be the continent of North America and the continent of Europe and Asia in a great war? Also the New City? Speculation could also arrive from that. Does it literally mean New York City? Or does it refer to a newer city that is just on the rise? New York City is not new at all. It and the state of New York were named after the Duke Of York when the American Colonies were being established in the early sixteen hundreds. But then again, Nostradaumus died on July 2, 1566 and the colonization of a new world would have been new to him.
In my opinion I believe that predictions are good and they keep us humble of the fragile world we live in. But, when the cookie crumbles, be aware that your life is not set in stone; nor anyone elses. You make the descisions and dont let an old man that lived in another hemisphere of the globe influence your life in a new radicalistic direction.
