Bernard Gets a BIG HEAD!

In Brave New World, Bernard Marx is considered 'weird' and an outcast because he is different then the people surrounding him. Rumors have been spread about how someone accidentally put alcohol in his decanting tube. Until he returns from the reservation with the Savage, all of the previous accusations of Bernard being weird, disappear. He is now a highly cherished person and only through him can the people see the Savage. He is now able to socialize comfortably with people of his stature and ladies come easy. After a while, the attention gets to him and his body suffers under the pressure of his big head. Bernard undergoes a power trip that doesn't last long. Many leaders, past and present, have been made famous by certain actions or deeds. After some time has past and they realize that they have the world in the palm of their hands. Some go nuts and abuse their position as a leader for personal gain. Bill Clinton of the United States of America, Kim Jong-il II of North Korea, and Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe have all suffered from the disease of the Big Head and have been highly critized for it. Cockiness leads to a road of misery. You can be on top of the world one minute and the next, be in jail or thought of as a public disgrace.
